About the procedure
Gradual loosening and widening of the vagina is a natural consequence of ageing and is significantly accelerated by childbirth. This process is caused by weakening of the muscles, ligaments and vaginal mucosa, which lose their elasticity, strength and ability to actively control. In this condition, the vagina does not function in an optimal physiological mode. Professional studies in the field of sexual medicine have confirmed a direct relationship between the degree of friction during intercourse and sexual satisfaction. Friction depends on the diameter of the vaginal canal — the more dilated the vagina, the lower its intensity. The result may be fewer orgasms or their complete absence, in both partners. Surgical treatment of this condition carries the risk of scarring, damage to nerve structures and a subsequent decrease in sensitivity during intimate intercourse.
Laser therapy for vaginal relaxation syndrome is a modern, non-invasive outpatient approach. The method is based on the photothermal effect of an Erbium:YAG laser with a wavelength of 2940 nm — the energy is applied to the vaginal area via a special optical adapter. It penetrates the mucosal tissue and surrounding structures, where it stimulates collagen remodelling processes and causes contraction of the endopelvic fascia and pelvic floor tissues. Compared with surgical methods, this procedure is significantly less burdensome, associated with a lower incidence of complications, and well tolerated by patients. Recovery is short — sexual intercourse can usually be resumed after 7 days. If sufficient tightening is not achieved after the first session, the treatment can be repeated after one month. The laser procedure can tighten the vagina by up to 30%, increase its elasticity and natural moisture. At the same time, the vaginal mucosa is rejuvenated and local immunity is strengthened, which has a beneficial effect in recurrent vaginal infections and mycoses.
During the same session, the procedure can be complemented with an application of hyaluronic acid, which provides an immediate aesthetic effect — it smooths wrinkles and refreshes the external appearance of the intimate area.
